waahaha i had so much fun last weekend. finally, naka-akyat na uli. i missed it so much pala. ang sarap ng feeling, pero masakit sa katawan. although it was already my 3rd time in Manabo, i still loved being there. we're planning our next climb na. baka Gulugod-Baboy or Maculot. minor lang muna, matagal napahinga eh :-)

MICHY!

im posting this entry for the benefit of my friend michy who's climbing pulag in november. wuuhoo go mitch! :-D

below is the steep AKIKI trail. most mountaineers use this trail in their ascent to see get a breathtaking view of the MARLBORO COUNTRY, pass by the ice-cold EDDET RIVER, and enter the MOSSY FOREST on their way up.

MARLBORO COUNTRY below

EDDET RIVER below

MOSSY FOREST below

ASCENT pics (Akiki trail)

BASECAMP (1st and 2nd day, hindi nag-iiba mga suot namin. nagpapalit lang damit pag matutulog, tas trek clothes same lang for 2 days. necessities lang talaga ang dalhin nyo, as in)

ON THE WAY TO THE PEAK (peak assault; wala campsite sa peak)

PEAK na --

GUIDES - dalawa sila kce may nakasabay kami isa pang group ng mountaineers. yung naka-gray ang guide sa amin (mang marcos), yung isa sa kanila. mga taga-benguet yung isang group so kanila yung guide na ndi marunong mag-tagalog hahaha, yung naka-yellow (ilocano). yung isang group na yun, ndi namin nakakasama sa basecamp eh. nagkasabay-sabay kami from baguio, to PAO office, tas nagkahiwalay na nung start ng trek, nagkita kinagabihan sa eddet river pero malayo yung pinag camp-an nila sa pwesto namin, tas nagkita na uli nung 2nd night pero malayo uli yung pinag camp-an nila samin, tas nagkita uli sa peak, tas sa dulo na uli ng ambangeg, then sabay-sabay uli pabalik baguio. ndi namin sila kasabay during trek hours kce it's either mag overtake sila samin pag pahinga kami, or kami mag overtake sa kanila pag pahinga sila.

im with kesh and mico (si kesh naka blue and white bonnet, si mico naka-brown bonnet. shempre ako yung naka red and white bonnet hehe -- kesh, mico, andrew, ako: 4 kami nag-pulag) tapos yung dalawang girls (naka-red with nike cap & naka-black with black bonnet), sila yung taga-kabilang group

DESCENT (Ambangeg trail)

ayun for Pulag. ill post din pics of other climbs, para ma-encourage ka mag-minor muna bago mag-pulag :-) magaganda rin naman mga mountains sa batangas area, saka meron din rizal, and bulacan:

BATULAO (batulao, batangas) -- you know the place :)

DAGULDUL (san juan, batangas) -- may beach sa paanan

DARAITAN (tanay, rizal) -- caving naman to saka river-trekking, pede warm-up

360 degrees view ito. kita ang batulao, pico de loro, banahaw, cristobal from the manabo peak :)

MANALMON (san miguel, bulacan) -- ideal for day hike ito pero parang ang layo ng san miguel bulacan hahaha! nangarag ako sa byahe, ndi sa akyat hihi

PICO DE LORO (maragondon, cavite) -- the name literally means parrot's beak. tingnan mo yung shape nya, parang beak ng parrot na nakaturo sa langit. yung rock formation na nasa pic below, ito yung isang part ng beak. andun ako sa other part.

TALAMITAM (talamitam, batangas) -- ay naku po sorry, mother nature, pero ndi ko po nagustuhan ang bundok na ito :S dry na dry yung lupa, sumakit ulo namin sa pag setup ng tent dahil nagkanda-bali-baliko mga pegs namin, ayaw bumaon sa lupa. akala namin matutulog kami na walang tent. tas yung peak, kalbo :S pero maganda rin yung view pag-akyat mo. but still, i wont recommend this to anybody

ayun. mountaineering is so much fun, girl. magbalik-loob ka na hehe. ill lend you my stuff muna, tas pag nagustuhan mo pag-akyat, samahan kita bili sarili mo gamit ;)

puerto princesa!

although palawan didn't meet my expectations, and i felt it's a bit over-rated (i was waiting for leonardo di caprio to show up haha! - THE BEACH), i still had a great time. the hotel was cozy, the beach was stunning (im not a beach person but i liked the sand and the fishes and the corals that i saw in my first ever snorkeling adventure), and the cave was perfect. almost perfect, actually. the stalactites and stalagmites were amazing, only if you could see them clearly hehe. it was pitch dark inside, but we had a big flashlight anyway, so we're good.

PIX!

what do you think? :)

haayy :-)

i checked out ina's and joy's recent posts. haayy... one happy mom, and one excited soon-to-be mom :-) i can't wait to be a mom too! hahaha pero problema, wala pa willing maging dad nyahaha! ok lang, i'll wait :-)

i've had experience taking care of a baby. i was 14 when my sister was born. since mama had to work, baby sis was actually closer to me then. it's me whom she'd look for when she cries haha! i was the one who'd make her poopoo, and would change her diaper when her weewee is more than enough that it could handle. we slept, ate, played, sang, danced, watched tv, etc etc etc etc together :-) 12 years later, she's a sixth grade volleyball varsity player. i just bought her very first set of knee pads last saturday :-)

haay wala lang. babies. i love them.

i missed this

oh, it's been more than 2 weeks since i last updated this. i didn't have much to say, probably. or i just didn't feel like writing. or maybe i just didn't want to tell everybody what i've been doing. i don't know.

ok, lets see...what kept me busy? let's just talk about these things:

- books
- milenyo
- PC upgrade
- house warming
- palawan trip
- final exams

BOOKS

mitch (my college buddy) borrowed a book from a friend, which she showed me - "Confessions of a Shopaholic" (Sophie Kinsella). it looked like something that i'd like so i bought my copy. yup, i liked it a loooott :-D i just bought the sequel, "Shopaholic and Sister", but haven't gotten the chance to read it because im busy with "Memoirs of a Geisha" (nope, i haven't watched the movie yet hehe. i'll do it when im done with the book). i'm also planning to buy the other Sophie Kinsella books :-)

MILENYO

waahh i was sleep-deprived. "brang-awt" can be tolerated by people who work during the day, but it's hell for us who work at night and have to sleep at daytime. the first storm day (thursday) was manageable (except for the strong wind and heavy rain). it was cold so i managed to get enough sleep while im curled up, wrapped in a blanket. sarap ng tulog ko hehe. the next day was a disaster, though. i had to move to mama's room (2nd floor: windy), but everybody was there. how am i supposed to sleep when the kids are playing, and the oldies are chatting? well, that's life.

PC UPGRADE

i need to get a motherboard replacement. PC Express told me that my board's phased out already. i didn't believe the guy so i went to sta lucia to see if other stores would say the same thing. hehe ok fine. PC Express is telling the truth. i planned on going to gilmore but decided to just go home and sleep (i haven't slept yet then, bec i came from grad school and just met my bro at the LRT station). the next day, i checked out the computer shops in virra mall, and had the salespeople make me realize that i need to upgrade my board+processor. i'm probably getting an Epox (socket 754) + Sempron 2800 next weekend.

HOUSE WARMING

elvie moved to marvie's place a week ago, and they planned a house warming party. just earlier that morning, i bought a halloween toy (a chopped hand) from sta lucia, and decided to bring it to the party hahaha! we all had fun.

PALAWAN TRIP

i can't wait for sunday. im so excited for the palawan trip! it's gonna be my first time to board a plane nyahaha! hihi i cant waaaiiitt!!!
*** stories about this trip would be posted next week ;-)

FINAL EXAMS

after the palawan trip, we'll have our QBA finals. then, the semester's over! for GS students who haven't taken up QBA yet and would read this...Prof Tan. panalo.

rhecel goes RETRO :-)

We had a Fish event last Friday - I don't know why it's called that way, but it's actually related to like having fun in a marketplace or something like that - which had a RETRO theme. Everybody was wearing something really funny :-D

- Allan looked liked a young Erap/Menudo member/JC Bonin
- Jayem looked like one of those guys in the movie Grease
- Marvie looked like a modest college girl in the 60's
- Chill was a retro hot chick
- Gren was like a hi-skul kid in the 70's
- Etc

It was fun! :-)

Here, take a peek of my costume (I won cute bathroom stuff with retro prints for this get-up, btw) --

I look forward to the next Fish event ;-)

Snackarooo!!

"Snackaroo" - steak house located in Kamuning, near Kuya John's place

We craved for T-Bone and Porterhouse steak so we headed to Snackaroo this morning. Too bad the manong-who-makes-ihaw-ihaw wasn't in yet when we arrived at 10am *di naman kami mashado excited hehe*. There were 4 of us then -- Saki (Ryan), Kuya John, John Say-What, and me. We were so hungry (I had soft taco the night before, though) so we just decided to get something else (kahit masama sa loob namin dahil dinayo pa namin yung steak). I had caldereta + rice + sprite + egg pie (which we bought from a bakery nearby).

At 11am, Preggy Joy, Marlon, and Sid arrived. Manong-ihaw was already there too! Nainggit kami kila Joy so we decided to have Round 2 hehehe. We had T-Bone steak :D Yahooo sawaaaaap!

I can't wait for the next Snackaroo session ;-)

deep and brown...

You sat next to me, but I didn't pay attention. You were writing something down, and I was doing the same. From the corner of my right eye, I saw that you were looking at what I was writing, but I was too busy to ask why. A few minutes later, you asked me a very lame question, but I answered it anyway, without even looking at you. Then, you asked more, and that's when I decided to look at the person sitting beside me. It was only then that I realized that I was sitting next to the person who has the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen.

I love...myself.

Haha I'm beginning to enjoy taking pictures of myself :-D This started when Mama gave me her 2-megapixel 6280 Nokia (a bday gift from his brother) a few months ago because she still had a phone then (and mine was BULOK). However, due to a disastrous event which happened a month after that, the 6280 phone is now gone. I'm using a 6020 phone now, but still enjoys taking pictures of myself nyahaha! I have a digicam, but it's more fun taking pictures using a cellphone (I don't know why).

Here are some of my self-taken pics (YOU'RE GONNA LOOK AT THEM, WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT) --

PS: Please ignore the ugly wall at the back. Our kitchen's being renovated.
And the eye bags too. Just pretend that I don't have eye bags.

Description of a TAUREAN

Last August 2, I posted the different characteristics of a Taurean, which I got from a horoscope-related email that I got from a friend. A day after, I realized that I didn't like most of what it said (the very first adjective that I saw on the list is STUBBORN), so I removed it :-D Today, I just thought about finding out if horoscope websites would describe me differently, and noticed that 99% of them would say that Taureans are STUBBORN! Grrr!!! I'm not!!! Hehe. Anyway, here's the new list that I got --

- The sign Taurus is symbolized by the Bull, and your sign's element is Earth. Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus.
- You are practical, peace loving, STUBBORN (here it is again!!), slow and deliberate.
- Taurus will walk away from an argument.
- Taurus is artistic, musical, and has a "feeling" for things.
- Taurus is emotional, determined, stable, and persistent.
- Taurus has a love for beauty and harmony. You like to prove your worth.

Possible negative aspects of the sign Taurus:
- Taurus can be lazy, angry, STUBBORN (it's here again!! waahh!!), and unreasonable.
- Taurus has a love of sensuous pleasure, and are fond of good dining.

bad bad dream

wahahaha the CLASSMATE didn't respond to my last email (see previous post). wow that's so cool. pahiya sha.

my eyes are heavy, and i almost fell asleep while editing a page in CCNET. for the past 2 days, i've only had a total of 8 hrs of sleep (4 hrs per day). for some, this may be normal, but not for me. i feel totally useless if i don't get at least 6 hrs of sleep. normally, if this happens, i'd just stare at the ceiling, and bite my fingernails while i talk to myself. haay but i can't be like that here at work. not this week, at least. there are tons of work to do which are helping me stay awake.

OMG i remembered again why i woke up early the other day. i tried to sleep again but could not anymore. very very bad dream. as soon as i woke up, i turned on the light, switched on the TV, and opened the door of the room *i didn't want to feel alone, that's why*! then i closed my eyes, tried to sleep again, but the face of my highschool friend hanging in our school's CR, dead, would flash over and over again. she was dead but her eyes were wide open, staring at me waahh! then i said to myself, ligo na ko, tas papasok na ko maaga (it was 7pm and i usually wake up at 9pm). i went to the CR and had goosebumps when i turned on the light because i imagined her hanging in our own bathroom!! waahh teka lang, ayoko na maalala. i even imagine her hanging in the office CR. erase, erase, erase.

i'll send her an email now and will tell her about this bad dream. she's a nurse and i hope nothing bad happens to her.

Ahh liberated ba? Ow-Key...

I'm writing a paper about Business Process Outsourcing for my Research Methodology class (UST-GradSchool), and had to collect data from people who are not exposed to the call center environment. I asked these people to send me the first 3 questions that would come into their mind when they hear the words "call center". One classmate sent me 3 questions *thanks!*, but the third question surprised me. I hope the person whom I was exchanging opinions with in this thread won't take this post offensively --

CLASSMATE: "Is it true that people in the call center are more liberated if compared to those connected in the other industries? Is the graveyard shift a factor to consider to become more liberated?"

RHECEL: I can't give a YES or a NO answer because the word LIBERATED is highly subjective. The answer to this question would depend on how you would define the word. Mr. Webster defines it this way, though "LIBERATED = opposed to traditional social and sexual attitudes or roles". If I answer YES, that would be very unreasonable because I don't have any proof or evidence that call center employees, IN GENERAL, "oppose traditional social and sexual attitudes", right? I can't speak for all call center employees because I don't know how they run their lives, but I would understand why people perceive call center employees as "liberated". This is probably because most of them go to work at night, and that most of them smoke during breaktime *hahaha*. Most call center employees are young professionals, which explains why they do things that normal young people do, but it's more highlighted probably because they're more visible at night. On the other hand, if I answer NO, I may contradict your own perception of what a liberated young professional is. The bottomline is, the person asking this question should answer his own question.

CLASSMATE: With no offense meant, it is now the general perception among your colleagues. I remember one of my friends told me that better i wasn't lured by the call centers because it will definitely change my outlook, that is, will become liberated! Though you're right, they are also being highlighted because most them work at night and can easily distinguished by seeing them in clustered either smoking or taking their break time. Btw, yours is a good topic for research. Good luck!

RHECEL: I wasn't offended, it's untrue anyway. However, it's very disheartening that most people think about call center employees that way. I'm sure you had your Critical Thinking class, and I hope you had it under Dr. Aguas because he's a very good professor. He explained very well the CONVERSE ACCIDENT FALLACY (also known as the FALLACY OF HASTY GENERALIZATION) which is one of the most common logical fallacies. People who don't think logically tend to form a general rule by examining only a few specific cases which aren't representative of all possible cases. No offense meant too, but can you do me a favor? Explain to your friend what this fallacy means.

Kissing FROGS!!

I overheard someone say, "You have to kiss a few frogs before you find your prince."
--> Sooo TRUE! I can't help but smile when I heard this :-)

** Hehehe Lyn, sorry, I removed the original content of this post (SUBJECT: Is this me? - Description of a Taurean) and changed it even before I saw your comment. Una pa lang, it said STUBBORN agad and I didn't like it. Hahaha!

ATENISTA

Nothing very interesting happened, but I had a lot fun last weekend. I went out with officemates-slash-friends for a couple of movies (literally, bec I watched 2 movies with them at Galleria - PIRATES and SUKOB), had Chicken Quesadilla at Otra Cosa, went home, and found out that our maid eloped with her 17-year-old ATENISTA (please take note of that, ok?) new text-bf who drives an Adventure (that's how she described him). Ok fine. Maybe fairy tales still do come true.

This is it! :-P

Wow. This is my very first online journal haha. Late bloomer? :-P And im sure you’d think im kidding if I'd say I had my Friendster account only 6 months ago. Why? Strange but true (Rico Blanco quoted). It’s either I didn’t have time, wasn’t very interested, or was plain lazy. Pick your choice, but mine would be the last one :-D I even remember writing “Watched TV and did my homework” as my uniform diary entry back in highschool (we were required to show our diary entries every single day of our 4-year higschool life). Thanks to soon-to-be-mommy Joy; I had fun reading her journal last night at work (petix-mode turned on) and, for some reason, suddenly got excited about having my own :)

Hmm… where do I start? Ok, I’ll tell you some things that you probably don’t know about me, and I’m gonna write down the first 10 things that would pop into my head. Here you go:

1. I’m Taurean. They say Taureans are stubborn. I beg to disagree (but some of you who know me may disagree with me hahaha)
2. When asked to choose between a frog and death, I’ll go for death. I’ll get the same thing anyway. I’d die if I get the frog.
3. I was a company commander in CAT (Cadette Capt. Nunez, Charlie Company Commander). I was the nicest CAT officer then (I hope my ex co-officers don’t get to read this. Nuninuninu…)
4. I have this bad habit of packing my things and then unpacking, just to check if I packed my things properly. WTF?!!
5. I pee at least 10 times in a 9-hour work shift. If I drink more than I usually do, I’ll add 5 more to my count.
6. I can’t swim and my greatest fear is to get stuck in a boat in the middle of the ocean. If that happens, I’d just jump off the boat, thank God for giving me life, and let myself drown.
7. I want my coffee black and sweet. If given a choice, no creamer please. I love Starbucks’ mocha frapp, though.
8. I’m dextro-scoliotic and underwent therapy at the Medical City Physical Rehab center back in college. I’m slightly S-shaped, but I hope those who don’t know don’t easily notice.
9. I used to be a mountaineer, and I hope my schedule lets me be one again. The memories that mountaineering gave me are priceless.
10. I wore eyeglasses when I was 5, and took them off when I was 8. Then I had to wear eyeglasses again when I was 13, and took them off a year after. It looks like I have to wear glasses again, soon.

Ok. That’s enough for today. I’m switching back to lazy-mode :-D
